Can one Powerwall 3 back up my whole home?
Powerwall 3 can support the power needs of most homes. How many units you need depends on what you want running during an outage, such as air conditioning or a pool pump. We size the system with you during the consultation.
I already have solar panels. Can I add Powerwall 3?
In many cases, yes. Powerwall 3 can work with existing solar systems, and it also has a built-in solar inverter for new panels. We review your current system and electrical panel before recommending a setup.
Where is Powerwall 3 installed?
Indoors or outdoors, on the floor or on a wall. The enclosure is NEMA 3R rated, the battery and power electronics are IP67 rated, and it operates from –4°F to 122°F.
How many Powerwall 3 units can I install?
Up to four Powerwall 3 units and up to three Expansion units, seven units in total.
What happens during a power outage?
When the grid goes down, Powerwall 3 transitions your home to stored energy. You can see what the system is doing at any time in the Tesla app.
